Brass Door Restaurant Before & After Manufactured Stone
The historic Brass Door Restaurant has a long history in San Ramon California. Dating back to 1946, “Shorty” Schlesinger opened the location as the 8/5 Club (his favorite gambling odds)- back then the population of San Ramon, CA was 100 people !
In 1955, Shorty’s son, Mickey, and a local dairy farmer, Dick Basso, bought the 8/5 Club from Shorty and named it The Brass Door. Another Basso, (Danny) has been operating it to this present date.
The restaurant which is located on SAN RAMON VALLEY BLVD sits directly across from Morgan’s Masonry Supply. Both employees and masonry contractors who frequent Morgan’s are loyal patrons of The Brass Door, so when the restaurant decided some updating was in order, they knew just who to ask !!
The restaurant considered both Thin Brick (which has always been a popular choice for restaurant interiors) and Veneerstone manufactured stone profiles. Guest Appeal, a consultation firm that helps restaurants improve the ambiance of their establishments helped The Brass Door owners choose the perfect style and color. They decide on the Imperial Stack profile from Tejas Textured Stone .
Masons who installed the manufactured stone panel system, commented that they loved how quickly and easily it installed. Tejas Stone’s Imperial Stack is specially designed to install quickly & easily and produce a dry-stack look without being able to see the joint lines (a complaint many people have about other manufacturer’s Quick Stak or Pro-Fit panel systems)
As you can imagine, from seeing the before and after pictures above, the restaurant is thrilled with their new contemporary look and the many masonry contractors that frequent the location are able to admire their handy-work while dining on some of the best food available in Northern California !

Remodeling with Manufactured Stone is a GREAT return on your Investment !
A recent Nationwide study of Real Estate Professionals revealed that Manufactured Stone provides one of the greatest returns for homeowners when it comes to getting a higher price for their home.
Traditionally, Kitchen and Bathroom remodels were considered to be the best return on investment when it came to getting your money back in higher home values. But those figures of 80-100 % ROI are nothing compared to what the new study has found as a ROI for using manufactured stone !! Depending on where you use manufactured stone, the study has found that the added value can range from 143-436% increase in the perceived value for home buyers!
With an amazing 436% return on investment, It appears that entries are still King! For many years, Real Estate professionals have advised home sellers that a new door or fresh paint on the front entry will help put your home’s “best foot forward” to buyers. The first impression your home gives from the street is key to how your house is perceived. Homes remodeled with a manufactured stone entrance maximize this curb appeal and are perceived to be more valuable.
Remodeling an old fireplace with manufactured stone is also a fantastic investment! Tejas Stone’s profiles and colors are perfect for remodeling any exterior or interior surfaces because the thin veneer allows homeowners to apply the stone directly over the surface without adding much thickness to the overall surface.
*Results based on a nationwide survey of real estate professionals by an independent market research firm, as well as other published independent studies. ROI shown for each improvement is based on typical installation costs for remodeling as estimated by the study. Your ROI may be different from those shown above, depending on a variety of factors.

Tejas Manufactured Stone in front of the Natural Stone Matched
If you were to visit one of the Tejas plants, you would see pallet after pallet of natural stone throughout our factory yard. That is because every style and color of Tejas Stone comes from “mimicing” it’s natural conterpart !
Natural Stone is hand selected and chiseled to perfection by the Tejas Design Team before it is used to cast the molds that will produce the most authentic looking manufactured stone available.
The process produces an exact replica of natural stone that can be used in your residential or commercial projects to provide the beauty of natural stone but installed at a fraction of the cost.
More Manufactured Stone produced to match Natural
Tejas Textured Stone by Pavestone constantly works with Designers, Architects, and Owner/Developers to come up with the exact looks that are needed for their individual projects. Jacob Mulhern, North Texas Sales Manager for Tejas, says “many times we do a custom match for a large scale project, like we did recently with the Canyon Blend color and people begin to drive by and ask about it, so we make it a standard color. Most of our best selling colors are a result of designers asking us to tweek one of our colors or match a natural stone”
Forming our molds from natural stone and using the highest quality pigments allows Tejas manufactured stone to be virtually identical to natural stone found throughout North America and even the world !!
